Welcome to Corbin's TechTalk Newsletter, entering its ninth year of providing the latest in technology for events, tradeshows and hospitality professionals in more than 65 countries.
I have just returned from a very fun speaking engagement on my very first cruise. Sponsored by Landry & Kling with stops in several Spanish and Portuguese ports, this "Seminar at Sea" celebrated L&K's 25th anniversary. It was a wonderful "all-inclusive" event experience.
This issue focuses on a range of meetings technology topics including recent mobile-phone developments (including the impact of the iPhone), web conferencing tips, new podcasts, lots of links, and much more.

NEW ARTICLE: The Future of Mobile Phones for the Events Industry
The mobile revolution is transforming the way that people communicate, get information, find their way around, buy things, and the way that event professionals (already a highly mobile lot) will do business. This article covers the convergence of several technology trends with many event-related applications.
NEW PODCASTS: Two New Podcast Clips from Corbin More clips from the Expo Magazine podcast series at www.expopodcast.com with professionally produced 20-minute programs on tradeshow news and a bi-weekly 4-6 minute technology interviews with Corbin in MP3. The title links below go directly to my recent interviews, while the web link above takes you to a directory of the programs.

NEW ARTICLE: Successful Web Conferencing and Webinars Tips Web conferencing and webinars provide low-cost ways of exchanging information to geographically separated attendees – without the hassles and costs of travel.
Sure, these tools won’t replace face-to-face meetings in their ability to build relationships, brainstorm, or network, but they should be considered by meeting planners as viable alternatives to some meetings, especially when information exchange is the key component.
There are some challenges, however. In this article, I will briefly cover three things to remember and two cautions when planning and running webinars.
