Corbin Ball, CMP
is an international speaker, consultant and writer helping clients worldwide use technology to save time and improve productivity. With 20 years of experience running international technology meetings, he now is a highly acclaimed speaker with the ability to make complex subjects understandable and fun.  He is the technology columnist for five publications and serves or has served on numerous hotel, corporate and association boards. He is Meeting Professionals International's 2002 International Supplier of the Year and has been named for the past three years as one of "The 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry" by MeetingNews Magazine.

He and his wife, Charlotte, met in college and have raised two children, Aaron and Amy.

Corbin's associates include his wife and a close network of meeting and technology professionals including Conferon, JRDaggett and Associates and the Professional Meeting Planners Network (PMPN).

Meetings Manager and Head of Conference Operations (1978-1997)
SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering

Designed, budgeted, specified and managed all aspects of 12 to 15 meetings annually, held in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Annual meetings budget for this 14,000-member association exceeded $6 million.  Extensive experience in designing and implementing technology solutions for meeting specifications, registration, and office computerization and automation.

Corbin contributed to the explosive growth of SPIE. During his employment, the association grew from 2,000 to 14,000 members. The staff grew from 12 to 120; the meetings department grew from 2 to 9 staff members; and the number of meetings grew from 2 per year to 15 per year. The attendance of the largest meeting grew from 2,000 to more than 11,000 attendees, the largest meeting held in the optics industry

Departmental manager supervising 4 full-time staff and 25 students.
Conceived and implemented a client satisfaction tracking program resulting in a 5-fold improvement in customer satisfaction reports. Streamlined delivery systems and reorganized department for significant efficiency increases.

Researcher (1971)
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Western Washington University (WWU)
As a WWU graduate student, Corbin designed, co-submitted, and completed a research study funded and published by NIMH examining the physiological effects of alcohol on human memory.
