Meetings Technology Newsletter - July 1999 Greetings, Here is the July 1999 edition of my e-newsletter! There are
two new articles at my Web site described below. CVB Sites Worth Notice One of the best ways to improve your site, is to look at the good ideas of your competitors. There are several convention and visitor bureau (CVB) sites that serve as excellent examples of how to make the most of web for marketing and customer service. Ten CVB sites are reviewed in the article - some for with overall good design examples and some for good specific ideas. It also include the “do’s and don’t” for good site design. Check out the 10 CVB sites listed and let me know what you think! If you have other favorites, let me know and I will include it in the next newsletter. http://www.corbinball.com/articles/art-cvbs.html Picking
the Right Meeting Planning Software There are at least 170 meeting planning software products that offer help with everything from pre-meeting budgeting, post-meeting analysis and nearly every job in between! The challenges are how to find the right products and how to incorporate them into your office environment. With the plethora of programs, where do you start? This article covers several questions that should be considered in this process in an organized and sequential manner. http://www.corbinball.com/articles/art-choosingsoftware.html The

Convention Interruption Insurance Update I
have just returned from the MPI World Education conference in Philadelphia this
week and have an update regarding convention interruption insurance. In several
Y2K presentations around the country, I have mentioned that Wholler’s (the
major insurer working with this type of insurance) did not have a Y2K exclusion
policy (in other words: if your convention was interrupted by Y2K - they would
still insure your group for losses). This policy has recently been changed -
they will now not cover these type of interruption under most circumstances.
